Background & Experience
Dr. Bushelman is a board-certified dermatologist and expert injector who leads the team at Derm Aesthetics. She performs injectable neurotoxins, dermal fillers, a variety of laser techniques, and a host of other treatment options. She’s also completed a residency in internal medicine, a former board member, Program Chair, and Past President of the Northern Kentucky Medical Society, former president of the NKMS Foundation, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Bushelman attended Northern Kentucky University, where she worked as a phlebotomist and lab technician at the local hospital. She went on to attend University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Bushelman first became board-certified through an internal medicine residency at UK. But an unexpected fascination for dermatology soon had her charting a different course to a residency at the University of New Mexico.
After earning her doctorate from the UK, Dr. Bushelman accepted her first position at Trover Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic in Madisonville, Kentucky. It was there that she became acquainted with the world of medical aesthetics.
In 2003, after four years at Trover Clinic, Dr. Bushelman joined the practice of Dermatology Associates of Northern Kentucky. As her patient base in aesthetics grew (and continues to grow), it became evident that more services (and space) were needed. That’s when Derm Aesthetics of Northern Kentucky was born.
Dr. Bushelman is still proudly affiliated with Dermatology Associates. Derm Aesthetics, on the other hand, provides more of a calming, cosmetic dermatology experience where she helps her patients look and feel more refreshed.
Aside from dermatology and aesthetics, Dr. Bushelman has quite a list of interesting hobbies, including gardening, international travel, and annual hiking trips with her girlfriends. Some of her favorite hiking adventures include Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, and Glacier National Park in Montana.
