Patient Coordinator
With a plethora of treatment options available, patients often need a little help in navigating the best path for their aesthetic journey. Our Patient Coordinator Shelby Scott gladly rises to that challenge by serving as a valuable liaison between patients and providers. She proudly fills a role of ensuring every patient receives the highest quality of care from the first moment they walk through our door and then throughout their treatment process.
Along with the rest of our expert aesthetic team, Shelby is readily available to answer any questions and educate patients on our wide range of treatments. She’s also at the forefront of assisting with scheduling and payment inquiries.
Before becoming immersed in her beloved realm of aesthetics, Shelby initially pursued other interests by receiving her bachelor’s in kinesiology from Northern Kentucky University. She then spent time working in post-acute, geriatric, and rehabilitation environments through contract analysis and sales before eventually meandering back to her passion for aesthetics, which manifested years prior when she dealt with her own skin concerns. Those concerns led her to Dermatology Associates of Northern Kentucky and in Dr. Susan Bushelman’s treatment chair.
“As a former acne sufferer, I spent years investing time and effort into anything that would cure my skin,” Shelby said. “The medical dermatologist team at Dermatology Associates pinpointed a course of action in making me feel confident again. Coupled with studying biology and kinesiology in college, I have always been fascinated with human physiology. Therefore, I admire the research driven results behind cosmetic dermatology.”
Through her previous work in the post-acute, geriatric, and rehabilitation sectors, Shelby developed a great appreciation for patient care and relationships. Soon, the stars would align and lead her to reunite with Dr. Bushelman on the cosmetic dermatology front at Derm Aesthetics, this time in a working environment rather than a doctor/patient role. Shelby brought her great appreciation of patient relationships with her, which makes it even more meaningful to relish in the great results that have people beaming with confidence.
“Everyone deserves to look and feel their best, so I love witnessing the numerous positive transformations accomplished here day to day,” she said.
Many of those positive transformations Shelby has witnessed have come from her favorite laser treatment – MOXI® by Sciton – which she can’t wait to try herself.
“I love the beautiful results MOXI achieves,” she said. “This non-ablative laser targets and corrects skin concerns from sun or age spots to uneven skin tone and texture issues with little to no downtime. I plan to get treatment with MOXI for some acne scarring on my face.”
Though her love for helping patients in any way she can makes up the nitty gritty of her joy at Derm Aesthetics, working with a stellar team of likeminded, talented individuals provides the icing on the cake.
“I love working with our ethical and skilled team of professionals. Dr. Bushelman, Jennifer, and our medical aestheticians have a true passion for what they do,” Shelby says. “We prioritize setting and meeting realistic, attainable results without pressure to ‘sell’ patients on products or treatments that may be unnecessary.”
When she’s not assisting patients with a smile, Shelby’s free time is usually spent with her parents and siblings, her husband Dylan, and her animals (including a cat, dog, and several chickens). She and Dylan enjoy hiking, hunting, exercising, traveling, cooking new foods, and serving their community through land and wildlife conversation organizations.
