How does DAXXIFY work?
DAXXIFY (or daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is injected into the area where frown lines are present, just as with other neurotoxin injections. The purified protein it contains then goes to work temporarily halting certain muscle contractions that cause creases to form. That leads to the wrinkles being effectively diminished or even eliminated for several months. DAXXIFY can also be used to treat wrinkles in other skin areas rather than being limited to just frown lines.
How does DAXXIFY differ from other wrinkle reducers on the market?
DAXXIFY stands in a class of its own in that it’s the only injectable wrinkle reducer that’s powered by a peptide. Furthermore, it’s produced without any human or animal byproducts to stabilize the botulinum toxin A. Similar treatments use either human or animal byproducts, while DAXXIFY instead uses the novel peptide as a stabilizer. Are there any side effects with DAXXIFY?
DAXXIFY was tested in one of the largest-ever clinical studies that included more than 2,800 people of different ages and skin types, and the results showed no serious side effects relating to treatment. The most common side effects included swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness around the injection site (as is common with other neurotoxin injections). These occurrences are typically mild and resolve on their own fairly quickly. Most patients feel comfortable getting back to their normal activities once their injections are done
When can I expect to see results from DAXXIFY injections?
Some patients report seeing results as early as one to two days after treatment. The most noticeable results, however, typically occur in about two weeks following injections. DAXXIFY’s claim to fame is that those results can potentially last anywhere from six to nine months. In the clinical trials, at least 50% of patients reported still having visible improvement six months after treatment, with a smaller percentage of patients still experiencing results at nine months. In a survey, 96% of people stated they were satisfied with their results from DAXXIFY injections.
